Running cadence metronome — support
Open your audio app (Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, Podcasts, etc.) and press play there first. Then switch to MetroPacer and press Start. The metronome click layers on top of your audio.
Many runners target around 170–180 steps per minute (SPM), but the right number depends on your height, speed, and running style. Use the presets (160/170/190) as a starting point, or tap Tap Tempo while running to match your natural cadence, then nudge it up gradually.
For running they're the same number here: one beat equals one step. "Steps per minute" is the running term; "beats per minute" is the metronome term. MetroPacer supports 20–300.
Open Options and turn on Flash (the screen pulses on every beat) and/or Vibrate (a haptic tap on each step). You can also raise the independent Beat Volume so the click sits louder against your music.
Yes. MetroPacer uses background audio so the beat continues while your screen is off or you're in another app.
Tap the Tap Tempo button in rhythm a few times and MetroPacer sets the cadence to match your taps. Great for capturing your current stride rate without guessing a number.
